Cougars in Pennsylvania

Some believe there is no viable population of reproducing cougars in Pennsylvania. Others believe the cougars are on the move from state to state, and therefore they are just passing thru Pennsylvania. In 2007, the Pennsylvania Game Commission started collecting data on the subject. So far they believe the cougars that are in Pennsylvania are pets that have gotten loose or were released back into the wild. If you have had any experiences with cougars, please share them with us. We have provided a “submit a cougar report” on our Website.
